WANTED: A Great Corps Director!
WANTED: CORPS DIRECTOR
The Kingsmen Alumni Corps is looking for a new Corps Director to lead this excellent musical group through its upcoming performances. The "KAC" will be performing in the Southern California area, throughout the year, at a wide variety of venues and events, limited only by the creativity of their new Director.
This volunteer position requires a dedicated individual with good organizational skills who can commit 10-20 hours a week handling Corps operations. The Corps Director and his staff have a well established musical repertoire to draw from for their performances and the option to add new music at their discretion.
Please submit your "Letter of Intent" to the Kingsmen Starcorps Board of Directors, if you are interested in this position. Along with your 'Letter', please include a detailed operational and financial plan for the KAC that documents your approach for producing a financially self sustaining performance unit, on a annual basis.
All inquiries should be sent to the attention of Phil Norris at PaNors77@aol.com

Calling All KAC & Sr.Corps Members!
Hello my Kingsmen Brothers and Sisters. Fred here. Drill spot D10 '07 KAC Bass drumline.
I am posting today to let you know (if you don't already know) that I am the Director of the Jr. Corps. We have recently applied for membershp in the newly formed SoCal region of the Small Drum Corps Association (SDCA). A promotional video can be found on YouTube. Search: SDCA2011.
We have committed to host a show in early August. Final details are being worked out and will be posted when they are set. It is tentatively set to be held at Los Alamitos in the gym, as this is also called "Arena Drum Corps". I am asking for your help as performers to help kick start the Jr. Corps. We can perform as an any age corps, with the options of doing a small drill, or a park and bark. This can lead to the restarting of the KAC or Sr. Corps. We need someone to come forward to assume the position of Director of whichever unit goes forward.
My hope is that some experienced corps members will perform with newbie corps members at this show. Brass, Percussion and Guard members (Nationals, also) are being asked, by me, to help out. Rehearsals are set for Tuesday nights at Los Al (very close to the spot Corps rehearsed in '72) from 6-9 pm.
If you need more info I can be reached by email at: frets2@hotmail.com or cell at: (978) 618-2420. I hope to hear from you. We need to get started on this right away. Peace.
